You should plan to arrive or be in Reykjavik on this day. We will help you coordinate transportation from the airport for you to the hotel. In the evening we will have a welcome dinner where everyone will get acquainted with the other group participants. We will keep an eye on the forecast for aurora and potentially go shoot somewhere close by Reykjavik, if there is strong activity.

Snæfellsnes

We depart Reykjavik and head to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to chase epic conditions at a few iconic scenes including Kirkjufell Mountain, the Black Church of Budir, and Arnastapi. We will keep an eye on weather and aurora forecast and plan shooting accordingly.

DAY THREE - FRIDAY (11-08-24)

Kirjufell-Aurora.jpg

Snæfellsnes

Day three we continue to explore the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and do post processing instruction in the afternoon at our hotel. We will plan the best shooting locations in the area depending on the weather and aurora forecast. Two days in this area will provide us a second chance to shoot at locations if conditions don’t shape up for first attempt (important for iconic scenes such as Kirkjufell Mountain).

DAY FOUR - SATURDAY (11-09-24)

Day four we will plan to go to the Volcano if it’s active (which is likely). If there is no activity we will head to our locations in the Golden Circle. Highlights there include Geysir, Gulfoss, and Thingvellir National Park. Plan accordingly for sunset and aurora, and go over post processing in afternoon.

DAY FIVE - SUNDAY (11-10-24)

South Coast

Day five we head to the south coast of Iceland where we will have a handful of iconic scenes to shoot including two of Icelands most popular waterfalls Seljalandsfoss, Skogarfoss, as well as an epic secret one. We will also explore our first black sands beach in Vik, visiting Reynisfjara and Dyrholaey.

DAY SIX - MONDAY (11-11-24)

Glacier Lagoon

Day six we head to our accommodations at the Glacier Lagoon where will spend a total of 3 days. Day one will consist of photographing the incredible ice formations at iconic Diamond Beach and Jökulsárlón. At night (conditions permitting) we will bounce between the Lagoon and Diamond Beach, photographing the aurora.

Vatnajökull National Park

The focus of this day will be Ice Caves. We will be depart on day one of ice cave exploration with a private guide, where we will have plenty of time to take amazing photos in the cave and go over proper shooting techniques. Depending on timing we will either hit sunset or sunrise in the Lagoon area or Vestrahorn Mountain. Of course we will chase the aurora depending on strength and weather.

DAY EIGHT - WEDNESDAY (11-13-24)

Höfn

Today we spend some time at Diamond Beach or the Glacier Lagoon, as well as Stokksnes Beach, photographing the iconic Vestrahorn Mountain (hopefully with the aurora).

Reykjavik

On day nine we will choose a sunrise location or decide to relax if we shoot aurora the whole night before. We will be making our way from the East back to Reykjavik. For our last night together we will have a departure dinner at nice restaurant and spend some time reviewing photos and editing. This is generally a special night, bonding with the people you’ve grown close to during the adventure.
